Eating ice cream in Vaxholm is more than just a way to cool down, it’s a summer tradition. There are plenty of places to choose from, including several that serve locally made ice cream. And if there’s a queue? That’s a sure sign you’ve come to the right place. Here are some of our favorite spots.
MATHANTVERKSTANS RINDÖ GLASS
At Mathantverkstan by Söderhamnsplan, you’ll find Rindö Glass – ice cream locally made on the island of Rindö. It comes as classic ice cream, sorbet, and Glassle® – an award-winning whey sorbet. The flavors vary with the seasons and are made with real berries. Rindö Glass is also made and sold at Ostmakeriet on Rindö.

GLASSBOLAGET
A small and centrally located ice cream spot by the waterfront. Here you’ll find scoop ice cream from Engelholms Glass and Vindö Glass, soft serve, and marängswiss (a Swedish-style banana split) to enjoy along the waterfront.

GLASS PÅ HÖRNET
An ice cream bar with homemade Italian ice cream in both classic flavors and fun combinations. They also serve soft ice cream. Located on the corner of Waxholms Hotel.

WINBERGS
Right on the quay, you’ll find Winbergs Restaurant and Ice cream stand. Here, you can enjoy scooped and soft ice cream as well as GB Glace.
